Snow!

Well folks it really did snow down in the valley this week and after a shaky start I'm now used to driving on packed down snow again. Oh and it's flippin' cold -14.7 the last two nights. The winter gear is out with a vengeance and C is talking about going skiing on Sunday - which is fine by me as I'll be working.

We had our TW meeting last night at the library and I came away with a whole bunch of great ideas - on the whole they liked my next chapter and I think I can now iron out the clunky bits that have been driving me bananas for the last month - amazing what a fresh pair of eyes can do.

I also entered a fiction competition on the web but they haven't announced the winners yet and the link is still up on the Echelon page so not quite sure what is going on there. Oh yeah , we've started watching Torchwood - well actually we've watched precisely the first episode - the second one didn't have any sound so C is rooting around on the torrents trying to find one that does. I liked the subtle links to Dr Who but Jack did - at times - remind me of Flash from Red Dwarf!

Nurse Paula

What is it about guys and being ill? They go all floppy and useless. It's like living with Hugh Grant!!

Girls, we're tough and we can figure out ways to not get sick. Today I have spent most of my time as a combination of waitress and nursemaid. C's cough was almost gone - last week - but over the weekend he just got worse and worse and yesterday he came home feeing lousy after falling asleep at his keyboard. So this morning I went and talked to a pharmacist who gave me some very good advice and a scrip that didn't cost a fortune. I got back with a small forrest's worth of tissues, plenty of chicken soup and some tabs that will work but won't make him drowsy. Now comes the waitress part - he has to drink plenty of water. So every 30 minutes or so I go and top up his glass. Me, I'm so stuffed with vitamin C that even having L's little girl sneeze on me (gross!!) in the shop on Sunday had no effect.
